Terms of Submission
- Authors are strongly encouraged to read carefully the entire ‘Guidelines for Authors’ before submitting a manuscript to Scientific Journal of Civil Engineering to ensure that the manuscript is properly prepared and formatted. If the manuscript is not prepared according to the Guidelines for Authors, it will be returned to the authors for revision before being sent for editorial review.
- All manuscripts submitted for publication must be prepared in accordance with the latest update of Manuscript Template given by the Editorial Board.
- Manuscripts are considered for publication with the understanding that they have not been published previously, they have not been accepted for publication and are not currently under consideration for publication by another publisher in print or electronic medium (except in the form of an abstract or as part of a published lecture, review or thesis).
- All submissions must be made by the corresponding author only.
- Multiple submissions from single author, submission with plagiarism and overlapping publications will not be considered for review and publication.
Inquiries about status of submitted manuscripts or queries about the accepted manuscripts may be sent to the Editorial Office using the “Contact Us” page. All queries will get a response at the earliest.
Acceptance Criteria
- The journal accepts articles based only on scientific validity and methodological soundness with emphasis on research integrity and high ethical standards. We believe that if research is scientifically valid and technically sound then it deserves to be published for the research community.
- Articles are not rejected based on any subjective determination of novelty of the study, impact in a given field, or degree of advancement to existing literature.
How to Submit Manuscript
In order to accelerate the publication process the Journal requires that manuscripts be submitted online using online submission facility of the journal.
A registration is required to submit your manuscript. Manuscripts can be submitted to Scientific Journal of Civil Engineering by:
- Online submission using the ‘New paper’ menu on the journal website, after the registration. There is a step by step Instructions for submission available in the menu Instructions for manuscript submission.
Authors should ensure that papers conform to the scientific and style instructions given in the manuscript template.
SJCE offer a completely digital submission, review, and publication process.
At the time of submission of a manuscript, thus, it is advised to prepare production-quality files beforehand to speed up the process. It is advised that authors should follow the given guidelines above, unless otherwise the submission will be returned to the authors for additional revision which may decelerate the manuscript evaluation process and hence delay publication.
Authors are required to register to create an account for submission at the online submission site. Authors can also follow on-screen instructions and the system will provide the essential guide through the submission process.
After creation of an account, authors are able to exit/re-enter in the account at any stage.
All submissions are kept strictly confidential!
Types of Manuscripts
The following types of manuscripts are published in the Scientific Journal of Civil Engineering:
- Original scientific manuscripts
- Preliminary manuscripts
- Review articles
- Professional papers
Original scientific manuscripts
An original scientific paper presents the results of original research that were not previously published in either full or preliminary form.
Preliminary manuscripts
A preliminary paper contains at least one new scientific fact or result that requires immediate publication, but it should not contain enough details to test the described results, as is the case with original scientific articles.
Review articles
A review article contains an overall review of recent and current research in a specific area. Papers in this category are surveys in nature that should contain critical references and evaluations. The references must be complete enough to permit a good insight into the subject matter.
Professional papers
A professional paper does not have to be based on original research, but it should contribute to the application of well-known research results and present theoretical conceptions.
Article Processing Charges
- All work published in Scientific Journal of Civil Engineering is open access!
- Open access publishing allows unrestricted use, distribution and reproduction of an article in any medium, provided that the original work is properly cited and due credit is given to authors and original publisher.
- Full-text of all articles published in Scientific Journal of Civil Engineering is available online, worldwide, free of charge, immediately on publication. Readers can view, download, print, and redistribute any article without a subscription, enabling a much greater distribution of an author’s work. This translates into increased impact of the authors published work.
- There is no fee for submission of the articles.
Acceptance Certificate
Authors are issued an Acceptance Certificate for manuscripts that have been reviewed and accepted for publication by an editor.
Publication Notification
After the article is made available on the journal’s website, a publication notice is sent to the corresponding author with links to the issue and article.
Publication Ethics
The journal requires authors to adhere to the ethical standards required of researchers and scientific writing.
Plagiarism
The journal considers plagiarism a serious offense. Submitted manuscripts should be the original works of the author(s).
The journal is committed to eliminating manuscripts with possible cases of plagiarism from its review and publication process.
Duplicate manuscripts
It is unethical for authors to submit a manuscript to the Scientific Journal of Civil Engineering and at the same time, submit the same manuscript to another journal. This includes the submission of manuscripts derived from the same data in such a manner that there are no substantial differences in the manuscripts. Duplicate submission also includes the submission of the same/similar manuscript in different languages to different journals.
Citations manipulation
Authors should use only citations that are relevant to their manuscripts. Addition of references which are not relevant to the work is strongly discouraged. Similarly, irrelevant self-citation to increase one’s citation is unethical.
Article Copyright
When an article is published by Scientific Journal of Civil Engineering, the Journal does not take ownership of the copyright of the published article. In other words, authors retain the copyright to their articles and may republish these articles as part of a book or other materials. However, for author(s) to retain the copyright ownership of a published article, the following condition should be met:
- Cite the original source of the publication when reusing the article
- Accept that the article remains published by Scientific Journal of Civil Engineering website (except in occasion of a retraction of the article)
